The historic Trojan War is remembered for many things: the Trojan Horse, the deaths of Hector and Achilles… but what about the women? Euripides sought to uncover this mystery in his mythological classic, Trojan Women. Many of the issues that Euripides raised in this tragedy – abandonment, enigma, hierarchy and hopelessness – are reflected in the world that we live in today. Through Resounding Scream Theatre’s contemporary adaptation, trojan women…  enters a world already shattered, already wounded, already dead. Through the merging of modern and traditional language, Resounding Scream Theatre hopes to make the men and women of this Greek tragedy, men and women who once seemed so far removed from our reality, become relatable by sourcing events from the world around us.
